CONSULTATIONS

From time to time we run consultations on a variety of topics relating to the development and delivery of our products and services. The consultations provide useful information to help us make better decisions and help us understand the priorities of our stakeholders. Consultations will be added to the searchable database below, making it easy for you to see what’s going on and to participate. We will also include links to the results of consultations, including reports and information about any follow on activities.

This page will be updated and refined on an on-going basis.

Coding of PChSW2: Arthroscopic procedures (W84.8)
This proposed standard is for review and comment and must not be used for coding patient episodes of care.

Following queries submitted via the Clinical Coding Standards Support Service an issue was identified with the use of the words ‘specific’ and ‘dedicated’ within standard PChSW2 and that this was causing confusion for coders when applying the standard. This is a proposed amendment to the standard that recommends that the word ‘specific’ is used rather than the word ‘dedicated’ and further expanded on the use of the code including an example of use.

Please review this standard in conjunction with the document Guidelines for external review of standards and enter any comments about this proposed standard into the comments box at the end of the consultation.

We have outlined the issues identified so far, along with advice on how you should apply the standard if you encounter the same problems. We would like to gather general comments, information on other difficulties encountered when coding sepsis and suggestions for improvement of DChS.I.1.
