Train the Trainer Course

Purpose

This practical, skills-based course allows recently qualified Approved Apprentice Clinical Coding Trainers to practice their newly developed training delivery skills by delivering mock training sessions from the Clinical Coding Standards Course. This course aims to prepare new trainers to be able to deliver formal classroom training to novice clinical coders to ensure the quality of ICD-10 and OPCS-4 code assignment.

Find out about the Train the Trainer course in the Clinical Coding Trainer Programme Handbook.

Important Information

The Train the Trainer Course now features an online ‘Introduction to Classifications (ITC)’ module delivered over four sessions. Successful CCTP applicants must also ensure they keep the online ITC dates free in their calendars once published later this year. Please note: We plan to deliver these events during February or March 2022.

We have scheduled the CCTP Assessment Days and Train the Trainer Course as ‘classroom only’ events. We have considered the possibility of, and in some cases trialled, alternative facilitation methods, but due to the nature of these events, this is not possible without compromising their integrity and effectiveness.

Upcoming Dates

Please note: Acceptance onto this course is subject to delegates passing the Clinical Coding Trainer Assessment Day.

8 – 12 November 2021 - Hilton, Leeds City (Course code TTT1)

10 – 14 January 2022 – Double Tree by Hilton, West End London (Course code TTT2)

We have a contingency Train the Trainer course planned in Birmingham, which may be needed, depending on the number of applicants who meet the Assessment Day criteria. The dates will be published if we need to activate this event.
