The Clinical Coding Trailblazer is delighted to announce that the Standard for Clinical Coder has been approved by the Institute for Apprenticeships.

The approved Standard can be found here.

The Trailblazer will continue it work in drafting the apprenticeship end point assessment plan prior to submission to the Institute for Apprenticeships. Once the assessment plan has been approved the apprenticeship will be 'approved for delivery'.

  • Data Security and Protection Toolkit guidance for Clinical Coding Training and Audit

    Published: June 2018

    Dear colleague

The clinical coding audit guidance and training guidance associated with Data Standards 1 and 3 in the new Data Security & Protection Toolkit is now available in Delen and reflected in the toolkit. Coding departments should use these guidance documents when completing their annual assessments for the Data Security & Protection Toolkit. The guidance in these documents remains largely unchanged than that contained in the former Information Governance Toolkit Requirements 505 and 514 (audit) and 510 and 516 (training), just in a different format.

    Kind regards
